"Darling, danke schoen
Thank you for seeing me again
Though we go our separate ways
Still the memory stays, for always
My heart says "Danke schoen"
Wayne Newton
Yes, I am quoting from Mr Newton's famous song, Danke Schoen. I know it is stuck in your head in an endless loop. Can't you hear it? I can. Many thanks to brother Dan and beautiful Jeni for opening their home to their vagabond family. Miss Jeni served us a gorgeous array of breads from down the alley for breakfast. Then we were off heading down the road to Lucerne. Idyllic Lucerne...straight from a fairy tale. The Kapellbrucke mit Wasserturm bridge is stunning. Surrounded by swans it doesn't span the river but rather meanders across it. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner of typical Swiss cuisine at Pfistern. It is situated along the banks of the Reuss river. We were hosted by a delightful couple of ladies who told us all about their wonderful country. So, Dan and Jeni we would say to you danke schoen, and Wayne it is pronounced dunka schune not dunka shane!
