Sunday in the Black Forest...after a good and long night's sleep we started our day with the best pastries from just down the street. Yum! We headed out to Burg Hohenzollern (note to self...although our GPS lady is quite sexy she is a bit ditzy concerning directions) and eventually ended up at the castle on the hill.
What a beautiful vantage point overlooking the Black Forest which as it turns out is really just dark green. Very lovely. This old castle is still family owned which is quite charming, really. The Chapel was styled after Paris' Saint Chapelle. We all decided it was better to be born a part of the gentry class not the servants or worse yet the serfs.
Coffee outside a monastery from the 1100's and dinner in the garden at Dan and Jeni's. A wonderful and warm day in the not so black Black Forest.
